SeatGuard History

SeatGuard is a family business founded by Geoffrey Sculthorpe in 1995.  Geoff has a passion for inventing, designing, manufacturing and selling textile goods and he’s been at it for most of his working life.

In 1995 SeatGuard began to manufacture protective seat covers and sell them at country fairs and through mail order advertising in country pursuits magazines. Customers include HRH Sandringham and Balmoral Estates, Military, Police, tool manufacturers, garages, builders, plumbers, painters, decorators, hunting, fishing, outdoor and equestrian consumers.

In SeatGuard’s first full year of business during the Winter of 1995 her Majesty’s Balmoral and Sandringham estates became a prestigious customer when they purchased SeatGuard protective seat covers.

The following year in Spring 1996 Queen Elizabeth II visited the SeatGuard exhibit at the Royal Windsor Horse Show and took the time to talk to SeatGuard’s founder Geoff Sculthorpe about the products supplied to her Majesty’s Balmoral and Sandringham estates.

SeatGuard seat covers have gained a reputation with retail customers, professional mechanics and well-known brands for being the best protective seat covers in the marketplace because of our unique patented design and the quality of fabrics used to craft our products.
